Windsworth Self Catering Family Bungalows
Windsworth is a small secluded site consisting of 2 and 3 bedroomed, cornish stone built bungalows. Situated amongst trees and shrubs in a private elevated position approx ¼ mile from the main road, “Windsworth” has panoramic sea views of St. Austell Bay and the surrounding countryside and is ideally situated in Mid Cornwall for visiting any part of the county.
There are various beaches withing a radius of four miles, the nearest being Carlyon Bay and Par which are approx. 1.5 miles away. Various activities can be enjoyed within the locality including Golf, Tennis, Fishing, Horse Riding, Cycling, Swimming, Water Sports, Surfing and there are numerous scenic coastal walks and cycling routes. There is a Leisure Centre, Sports Clubs and Childrens Indoor Playcentres at St. Austell and an Indoor Tennis Centre at Bodmin. Experience the contrast of the safe south coastal bathing beaches to the rugged surf of the Atlantic coast, as well as the Duchy’s Celtic history and mystery.
There are many superb National Trust Estates and numerous magnificent gardens to visit – Pine Lodge Gardens is close by, approx 1 mile, and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are approx 8 miles away whilst the Millenium funded Eden project is within walking distance (approx ½ mile). This has been described as the “ 8th Wonder of the World.” There will be an information pack in the bungalow giving details of the area and of the many attractions to visit. We are members of the “Out to Play Golf” Scheme. This entitles you to a “2 for 1” fee for a game at various golf courses in the area. There is no limit to the number of vouchers used.
The bungalows are all self catering and make ideal family accommodation. They boast excellent sea views from their quiet location on the south Cornish coast and have an ideal touring position in Mid Cornwall making it easy to visit any part of the county. The double glazed, centrally heated bungalows consist of 2 or 3 bedrooms (double and twin-bedded rooms) a hall, a comfortable lounge with a flat screen television and DVD player, a fitted kitchen with electrical appliances, and a bathroom with a bath plus an overhead electric shower. They all overlook well maintained gardens and are very private. There is ample on site parking and dogs are accepted by arrangement. The bungalows are carpeted throughout with exception of kitchen which is tiled. The bungalows have information packs from the tourist board and also a folder giving our own version of “Must be seen” places we do not want you to miss whilst visiting our very special part of south west England.
The small village of St. Blazey Gate is approx. ¼ mile away with full services which includes a Post Office & Late Opening Convenience Store, a Garage and Filling Station, our local public house, a Fish and Chip Shop and a Chinese Take away. There are a choice of Indian and Chinese Take Away Restaurants within 2 miles. There are various supermarkets close by - Somerfield is within 1 mile, Tesco approx 2 miles and Asda at St. Austell, which is approx 4 miles. Cornish Market World is 1 mile away and this is the largest covered market in the south west selling a vast variety of items. The nearest railway station is at Par (1 mile) or St. Austell (4 miles) and the nearest airport is Newquay (18 miles). National Express Coaches also travel from all parts of the country into Cornwall.
There are many small restaurants in the area and the majority of public houses also supply good food, which caters for all tastes and budgets.
